5/15 Announcement
Dear ICOPLH families,
I have been the music teacher at this wonderful school for four years now. I have been blessed to walk through the hallways greeted with smiles, hugs, and high fives. I have loved every second of my time here, and announce with bittersweet sentiment that I will be leaving at the end of this year to pursue a two year commitment with the Peace Corps.
My husband and I have felt a deep call to service and will be leaving in June to teach high school English in Ethiopia. I have nothing but happy thoughts as I look back at my time at ICOLPH and will carry the many lessons I have learned here with me. I love this school and our students and families, and will always hold a very special place in my heart for ICOLPH.
Thank you for letting me teach your wonderful, inspiring children. I ask you for your prayers for my husband and I as we take this next step in our lives to serve others as Jesus did.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lindsey Gerbus

3/14 Spring Concert
Dear band and choir families,
Our students have been hard at work since January preparing their music for the spring concert (especially in the last few weeks, since we missed almost two weeks of practice time!).
This year's Spring Concert will be for ONLY 5-8th grade band and choir students (no 4th grade this year). The concert is on Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 pm.
Doors will open to guests at 5:45 and the concert will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.
The dress code is the same as the Christmas program, students should wear something comfortable and nice, like they would wear to a wedding or a similar event. High heels should be no more than one inch, we don't want anyone tripping! Please remember that band students will be sitting on the stage, so skirts and dresses should come down past the knees.
I am looking forward to showing off all of their hard work! We have some stellar students at this school!

Audition forms for the musical also went home yesterday. I have already had many students sign up! These forms are due January 30th. I will be holding audition workshops after school next week for students interested in perfecting their audition! See form for more information.

8/21 - Welcome Back and WMEA
Welcome back to another great school year! I hope you had a great summer. Some of you may be curious about the new music teacher, Mrs Gerbus. I got married over the summer and my name has changed, it's still me! :)
WMEA
In the last two years, we have had some incredibly talented and motivated students represent our school at Washington State Music Educators Association's annual conference in the music ensembles. 5-8th grade band and choir students are eligible to audition. Students work with me before or after school to prepare a recorded audition to send in to WMEA. Audition materials are available on September 1st.
